The copy machine incident, more of the Old City, and sunset at Mount Olive.
I went to Superstudio this morning. When I arrived, I met the janitor downstairs who asked, "Do you know anything about what happened?" I had no idea what he was talking about, so he proceeded to explain.
This morning when he arrived, he parked in the garage of the building. An auto shop nearby often throws car engines and greasy parts into the dumptster in the garage, and he noticed that there was a burnt piece of metal garbage near the dumpter, but that really wasn't unusual. He went upstairs and started to clean the carpets, when he noticed that the copy machine was missing. At first he thought someone had stolen it, and then, on a hunch, he went back downstairs to look at the burnt piece of garbage. Sure enough - it was the charred and barely recognizable remains of the copier.
We don't know what happened.
I went upstairs and there was no one there except the janitors. Then I realized that today was a holiday, and everyone was at home. I asked the janitors if it was OK for me to work, and they said yes, as long as they were there.
I spent some time developing a program to allow readers to submit comments on individual pages of this story, but I didn't have enough time to finish it. For now, we'll have to stick with email.
Angie and I went to eat in the Old City again. We had falafels, but they weren't as good as Samir's.
We explored a little.
That evening we drove to Mount Olive, and watched as the sun set over Jerusalem. A couple of camels were parked nearby. Gravesites covered the hill below us.
